Launching a $1M+ Ads Campaign: Insights from Leading Ads Experts

Ever wondered what it takes to scale an ads campaign to $1M+ in revenue? Today, we’re giving you an inside look at how we launched our record-breaking Woxer digital campaign. Read on for the detailed case study: 

We channeled our spend via Facebook and Google, with a team lead on each channel (Jose, our Director of Advertising, for Facebook, and Nirmal, our Paid Advertising Manager, for Google).

Our campaigns officially kicked off in January. At that point in time, Woxer had generated 5 figures in ads revenue.

By November, that number had skyrocketed to 7 figures in revenue.

Here’s how we did it:

Woxer had some robust ads running, but they were failing to scale due to an ineffective set up on Facebook. After identifying the problem, our first actionable involved restructuring their accounts in order to increase the effectiveness of the ads.

Next, we created an advanced retargeting and retention sequence to increase ROAS—while simultaneously increasing prospecting efforts to identify high-converting new audiences.

To maintain these ROAS, we worked with the Woxer team to constantly pump out new creatives. We tested new videos and images monthly and scaled the top performers.

When Black Friday rolled around, we were primed and ready to take our ROAS even higher. First, we set up an SMS campaign that enabled customers to sign up in advance for an early access discount. Then, we targeted these leads daily via SMS updates. The result? The best Black Friday ever.

Meanwhile on the Google Ads end, we were aggressively working our way up the search engine results ladder. We started by increasing spend and expanding Woxer’s dynamic prospecting and retargeting sequence.

We ran extensive keyword tests to improve rankings for our branded and non-branded ad rankings.

Next, we diversified our ad formats and introduced shopping cards, programmatic, and video ad placements to our media mix to drive brand awareness, recall and consideration. 

Finally, we worked with our SEO partners to increase landing page experience, relevance, and organic rankings to complement our PPC tactics. Our SEM strategy was a healthy mix of scaling, testing, and continually optimizing in order to increase ROAS and drive conversions.
